Chapter 97: A Place in the Heart

Eun-seo greeted the morning in Hacheon Village, feeling her heart grow lighter with each passing moment. The time spent with Min-jun yesterday lingered in her memory—the warmth of his touch, the way his hands seemed to understand her heart. She traced the memory of ceramic against her fingertips and found herself drawn toward his studio.

As she entered, Eun-seo’s eyes fell upon his ceramic pieces. Each one seemed to carry its own quiet meaning. Sunlight streamed through the open door, illuminating the works and bringing their colors into sharper focus. Min-jun stood beside her, his gaze meeting hers with an intensity she couldn’t escape.

“I want to show you something new I’ve made,” Min-jun said, his voice sending a gentle warmth through her. His smile melted her resistance. She took his hand and wandered through the studio, feeling his passion in every piece—the scent of clay and earth mingling in the air around them.

As they explored, Min-jun spoke about his work, each creation holding a story. Eun-seo listened, remembering the feeling of his hands against hers, the way they seemed to comprehend her without words. Beyond the studio sounds, the river’s voice and the woody scent of the riverbank soothed her restless heart.

They left the studio and walked toward the water’s edge. The river’s song and the smell of riverside trees calmed her completely. Walking beside Min-jun, holding his hand, she felt his warmth dissolve the last of her doubts. Time with him brightened something inside her.

They sat by the river, gazing at the flowing water. Min-jun held her hand, his eyes searching hers. She couldn’t look away. His touch felt like understanding itself. In that moment, she knew she mattered to him—truly mattered. His love filled the empty spaces in her heart.

“Min-jun, do you know how much you mean to me?” Eun-seo asked softly. He smiled, his eyes never leaving hers. “Of course I do. Your happiness is my happiness.”

Their time together deepened, each moment bringing them closer to understanding. Eun-seo felt lighter whenever she was near him. She remembered the texture of ceramic beneath her fingertips, the passion in his hands as he shaped clay—all of it spoke of his devotion to her.

Later, when Eun-seo entered his studio again, she found Min-jun working. His hands moved with practiced grace, coaxing form from clay. When he saw her, his face brightened. “You came back,” he said simply.

“I couldn’t stay away,” she replied. They walked through the studio together, surrounded by the evidence of his artistry, each piece a testament to his gift and his heart.

Once more, they ventured to the riverbank. The walk felt like a conversation without words—his warmth, her trust, the river’s eternal song carrying them forward. When they sat together, watching the water bend and flow, Eun-seo understood something fundamental: this moment, this man, this love—it would stay with her forever.

“Thank you for being important to me,” she whispered. Min-jun squeezed her hand. “I love you, Eun-seo.”

The memory of that day would remain etched in her heart. Every time she thought of him, she felt that same lightness, that same certainty. His passion, his understanding, his love—they had found their place within her, solid and enduring as clay shaped by a master’s hands.
