# Chapter 60: Evening by the River

Eun-seo walked along the riverbank with Min-jun, and the sound of the water, the birdsong, the trees and grasses growing along the banks—all of it soothed their hearts. She watched the way his hands moved as he worked, and in those gestures, she felt she understood something deeper about him. Her affection for his pottery, combined with the peaceful landscape, brought a quiet calm to her spirit.

They walked together in silence, letting the river’s voice and the birds’ songs wash over them. Eun-seo found herself thinking about Min-jun’s pottery, watching the deliberate grace of his hands. There was something about his craft, about this place, that made everything feel right.

“Min-jun, when you’re making pottery and you hear the river, the birds—what happens to your heart?” she asked.

His smile deepened. His eyes brightened as he spoke. “Eun-seo, when I work with my hands in the clay and hear those sounds, my mind becomes still. My hands become more honest. And I think there’s something in that honesty you can understand.”

As evening fell, sunlight slanted through the studio windows. Eun-seo simply watched him work. His hands never stopped moving over the clay—not rushed, not slow, but at a pace that seemed to carry something true.

“What are you making this time?”

“Something for you.”

His hands continued their steady rhythm, each movement deliberate, each touch infused with intention.

Later, they stepped outside to the riverbank. The water caught the last light of day, glowing softly. Eun-seo watched Min-jun’s profile as he gazed at the water, and she felt the weight of something unspoken between them—something beautiful and true.

“This place is so peaceful,” Min-jun said quietly.

“It is,” Eun-seo replied. “When I watch the light on the water like this, everything feels… right.”

“Your pottery is truly special,” Eun-seo said. “I don’t know how you make something so beautiful.”

Min-jun smiled. “It’s not just technique or materials. When I make pottery, I’m putting my heart and soul into it. Everything I feel, I try to give it form.”

Eun-seo’s heart swelled at his words. Being here with him, watching him speak about his craft with such passion—it was everything.

“I really love your work,” she said softly. “It’s beautiful.”

“Thank you, Eun-seo,” he said, his voice warm. “Your words mean everything to me.”

They walked along the riverbank as darkness began to settle. The sound of the water, the calls of evening birds, the rustling of leaves—all of it felt like a conversation between the earth and sky, and they were simply privileged to witness it.

“This is our place,” Eun-seo thought to herself. “Every moment with Min-jun feels special.”

Min-jun felt it too. Being with her, walking beside her in the fading light—this was happiness. This was everything that mattered.

“Min-jun, I love you,” Eun-seo said, finally speaking the words that had been living in her heart. “Your pottery, your heart—it’s all so beautiful.”

He turned to her, his smile tender and true. “Thank you, Eun-seo. Your words make me happy.”

They continued walking as the river flowed beside them, carrying with it the weight of all unspoken things, all the love that needed no words. The evening deepened around them, peaceful and complete. In this moment, by the river’s bend, they had found something neither of them had been looking for—and everything they had always needed.
