# Chapter 195: A Resolution of the Heart

Eun-seo sat on the edge of the staircase, and what reached her ears first was not understanding—but cold. The realization that the name she’d believed was Kang Min-jun was something else entirely seeped into her slowly, like winter wind slipping through the gaps of her coat. His name held a past, and that past had shaped the very core of who he was. Eun-seo traced back through Min-jun’s voice, syllable by syllable, and his words—once ordinary—now resonated with an entirely different meaning.

Along the riverbank path, the sound of a bicycle chain cut through the air. A rhythmic clicking mixed with the wind, brushing against her ears. Someone was racing down the Han River cycling trail. She couldn’t see their face, but their silhouette seemed to merge with the wind itself—fingers slicing through the air, their entire body becoming one with the river breeze before disappearing.

Eun-seo watched the cyclist fade away and thought of Min-jun again. The weight of his name grew heavier with each passing moment.

“Eun-seo, what are you thinking about?”

Min-jun’s voice drifted up from the bottom of the stairs. His tone was low and measured, yet something caught in it—a sadness glistening in his eyes that even he didn’t fully recognize.

Eun-seo bit her lip. Her voice trembled as she spoke.

“Min-jun… you’re not Kang Min-jun, are you? I figured it out.”

The silence that followed was louder than her words. She wanted to take his hand, but her fingers only drew close before retreating. His hand felt like a receiver capable of picking up her every thought.

“Yeah. That’s right.”

Min-jun stepped closer, his footsteps echoing against the concrete.

“So what do you think?”

Eun-seo met his gaze. His eyes were full of depths—not mere sadness, but something deeper, as if he questioned his very existence. She couldn’t look away. Instead, she felt herself being drawn into those depths.

“I… I want to understand you. Everything that comes after your name.”

Her voice was thin but steady. Finally, her fingers found his hand. It was warm—warmer than she’d expected.

“Can you understand me?”

Min-jun’s question went unanswered. Instead, Eun-seo gripped his hand more firmly. The cold wind from the Han River swept past them, and somewhere in the distance, another bicycle passed by. But all of that felt far away.

In this moment—holding his hand in this moment—that was everything.

Whether his name was Kang Min-jun or something else didn’t matter. What mattered was the person behind that name.

“Min-jun, let’s go together. Anywhere.”

Eun-seo’s voice dissolved into the night sky.

In that instant, she held his hand. And as she did, she understood what his name truly meant—not just a label, but the weight of his heart, the burden of his past, all compressed into syllables she was only now beginning to comprehend.
