Chapter 17: A Secret Deal

Seo-joon’s mind was elsewhere as he tried to respond to Han-soo’s question. His thoughts were consumed by the people in the room, and Park Yeon-woo’s smile had captivated him. Han-soo’s eyes seemed to bore into his soul, but Seo-joon’s heart was already racing with excitement. He longed to escape the cramped interrogation room at the Po-do-cheong and stroll through the moonlit garden with Yeon-woo.

As Han-soo repeated his question, Seo-joon struggled to focus. “You said you came from the countryside, but where exactly are you from?” Seo-joon’s heart skipped a beat as he tried to answer, but his mind was a jumble of thoughts. His hand trembled slightly, and his eyes were drawn to Yeon-woo’s smile.

Seo-joon took a deep breath and tried to compose himself. “I… I’m from Jeolla Province,” he stammered, his hand shaking slightly. His heart was racing, and his chest felt like it was going to burst. He was desperate to escape the interrogation room and bask in the silver moonlight with Yeon-woo.

As Yeon-woo began to tell him about her mother’s final days, Seo-joon listened intently. He was fascinated by her story and eager to learn more about her family’s struggles and conflicts. Her voice was like music to his ears, and her eyes seemed to see right through to his soul. Seo-joon’s heart ached with longing as he gazed at Yeon-woo, and he knew he would do anything to be with her.

Yeon-woo’s smile was like a ray of sunshine, and Seo-joon felt his heart soar. “If you come to our house, we can protect you,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “But you must promise to be loyal to us.” Seo-joon’s heart skipped a beat as he considered her offer. He knew it was a risk, but he was willing to do anything to be with Yeon-woo.

As Han-soo asked him again about his guarantor, Seo-joon hesitated. He couldn’t answer, his mind consumed by thoughts of Yeon-woo and her family. He felt like he was drowning in a sea of emotions, and Yeon-woo’s smile was the only lifeline he could cling to.

Seo-joon took a deep breath and made his decision. “I accept your offer,” he said, his voice firm. “I promise to be loyal to you.” As he spoke, Seo-joon felt a sense of resolve wash over him. He knew that he was taking a risk, but he was willing to do anything to be with Yeon-woo and her family.

As the night wore on, Seo-joon found himself drawn deeper into Yeon-woo’s world. He listened, entranced, as she told him about her family’s struggles and conflicts. Her voice was like a gentle breeze on a summer’s day, and Seo-joon felt his heart soften with every word. He knew that he had made the right decision, and he was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

But as he looked into Yeon-woo’s eyes, Seo-joon felt a pang of uncertainty. What did the future hold for them? Could they really be together, or was it just a fleeting dream? Seo-joon’s heart was filled with questions, but one thing was certain: he was willing to risk everything to be with Yeon-woo.
